Support when you need it most
Homeless and need somewhere to get back on your feet? Under the threat of losing your home and require guidance and advice?
StopGap Supported Housing is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Established in 1999 and based in Hexham Northumberland we provide supported housing and advice to homeless and vulnerable people. In September 2010 we opened our newly refurbished housing project in Hexham.
Funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Northumberland County Council supported this facility with £281,000 coming from the HCA's Places of Change hostels improvement programme. Officially opened by the Duchess of Northumberland in October 2010 we now have a service to be proud of. We now have the facilities not only to provide a home but also help people address the issues that led to their homelessness and gain skills to help them live independently, find employment and a home of their own.If you wish to support our charity by helping us with a donation you can call our team any time of the day.
StopGap Supported Housing helps our community in so many ways:
- Gives homeless people a place to stay
- Offers support and advice to those under the threat of eviction
- Helps homeless individuals to identify what lead to their homelessness and find a solution
